You Would Not Believe What A Comic and Book Treasure Trove It Is

 

There has been some discussion -quite obviously not in comments on this blog or CBO but on some comic forums- about why I have not published anything in just over a month.

The simple answer is that I do have books ready but there are over 170 already on the online store and I'd like to see a few of them start selling before going through weeks of work to edit and then publish new books.

Everything from UFO publications and books, books on "world mysteries" some including a lot of cryptozoology -Spring Heeled Jack, The Girt Dog of Ennerdale. Even something on early hot air ballooning history.  And, of course, The Hooper Interviews. There is illustrated Haiku by a Haiku Golden Belt -Osaka based Ben Dilworth (Osaka Brutal). Illustrated stories of Japanese and Western Yokai, a not suitable for kids Aesop's Fables, we have the first ever interview with Class Comics publisher Alan Class. It goes on.

When it comes to comics there is supernatural illustrated prose and comics/comic albums. There is Sci Fi as well as adventure and, naturally, crime fighting whether in a bleak future (The Dark Night Detectives), in the past (Tick-Tock It's The Clock!) or super heroes -sometimes crossing over with the world of the paranormal and sci fi.

If you get the chance, please give the store a once over. You may be surprised at what you find from the Platinum, Gold, Silver and Modern ages!

It begins slowly.  It always does. It's a deception that everything in the world is as it should be and that never changes.

Earth’s heroes and crime-fighters are going about their daily tasks –fighting a giant robot controlled by a mad scientist’s brain, attackers both human and mystical -even alien high priests of some mysterious cult and their zombie followers and, of course, a ghost and a young genius lost in time.

But psychics around the world have been sensing something.  A "something" that sends feelings of sheer terror through their psyches.

There is a huge alien Mother-ship near the Moon. Undetected by deep-space radar and other instruments, only a few on Earth have sensed it and they cannot penetrate the hull but only feel psychic screams and....worse.

Following the events on Neo Olympus and the Boarman invasion of Earth, many heroes and crime-fighters have withdrawn from activity. Some are trying to recover from injuries while others are fighting the mental scars left by the events.

But things have to go on.  As heroes from other parallels who helped during the recent events return home, members of the Special Globe Guard are shocked at the sudden appearance of Zom of the Zodiac. Never a sign of good things a-coming!

Face Book Is NOT A Platform To Promote Your Business On

 

I was asked about the BTC&B Face Book page. This is what I posted there just now but if it is not taken down by FB at some point I'll be surprised.

Face Book has failed to respond to any communivcations since blocking me posting news items about MY books on MY business page last September. It consistently blocks private posts as well as responses I post to people.

It means that a FB business page is pointless -and I am not the only one this has happened to.

Apparently anything to do with my books and business are "Spam" and now this:

Due to new privacy rules in Europe, the reporting of messaging-related insights are unavailable right now. Businesses may see impact to reporting on message and order data. Affected metrics will show a '-' in place of affected data from Europe."

Basically FB business pages are useless unless you are in the United States because there your private information and data can be freely spied on and used whereas that is illegal in Europe and elsewhere.

PLEASE visit the Black Tower Comics and Books blog because it is pointless updating this page...because I cannot.

Unless FB censor my blog link it will follow this post. If you do not see tjhe link it is blocked."

What this all means is that people from the United States who jhave visited the FB page are not having their messages showing up in notiofications. It means that, therefore, I cannot respond to them. Items posted can be deleted by FB after a couple of hours so I just left the page.

Face Book refuses to respond to messages on Twitter or via its own page where the post is quickly deleted. This can happen to you if you pay for FB to promote your page. In fact, it has been proven by many people, myself included, that FB 'promoting' your page achieves nothing. In fact 45% of page owners have found that views drop when FB does its 'promo' which has never made sense and FB tends to ignore those who complain. Face Book is, after all, not a "social media" but spying on personal information, advertising money making business.

Therefore I do not use it for anything comic related or business wise now.

Any news and information pertaining to Black Tower Comics and Books appears either here or on Comicbitsonline.

Is It Illegal To Shoot A Computer In The UK....apparently, yes. Who Knew??

 I was asked why I've not posted in a while. Typically I was asked this somewhere other than on this blog which HAS A COMMENTS SECTION in case you didn't notice.

Well, other than reviewing books, etc for Comicbitsonline and publishing books there has not been a great deal to talk about. No questions or comments so that makes a very dull time. Although Black Tower has been called "a new company to get into" -seriously, BTC was set up in 1984!- I'm sitting here waiting for the sales that will allow me to buy a new PC.

In fact, the PC is the only thing dramatic at the moment. It suddenly shuts down or will shift to other pages, refuse to recognise I am on the internet even though it clearly says I am on the internet and it creaks along but its life expectancy is....not good. I sold 20 books to the United States -YAY! I made £6.00 from those sales thanks to US Taxes -NOT "Yay!"  So buying that new PC is so far off that NASA will get astronauts to Mars first.

As far as I am aware books being for sale to the United States stops at the end of this month. The option was to increase book prices to offset the taxes but...

Now the best thing that you can do for the old bearded one is either inundate animation studios and Hollywood telling them how great Black Tower is and they should make shows with them or...buy books. The first sounds exhausting but the last is all down to mouse clicks!

DON'T make me eat another "nakd" breakfast bar for my main meal!
